DEIRDRE ADKINS
Founder & NCPT Certified Pilates Instructor
I was first introduced to the Pilates method in 1994 through a community mat class. After my first few classes I was hooked. In 2011 I was diagnosed with Carcinoid Cancer and lost my left lung as a result. After surgery I was in a great deal of pain and had limited mobility in my left arm. I began practicing apparatus based Pilates as a way to strengthen and heal my body. After six months I was nearly pain free, had full range of motion, and was breathing better than ever. After feeling the healing properties of Pilates firsthand, I decided to enter teacher training. I completed my comprehensive certification through Harmony Pilates' teacher training program in 2015. Upon completion I was grateful to join the Harmony teaching family.

I am a NCPT certified Pilates instructor. Additionally I hold certification as a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist. It is my great desire to guide others toward healing and progress through the Pilates method.
